It is funny that first little whipping is probably given to show you the perils that existed. Poor Ma was probably frightened to death and your Dad may have had something to say to her. I think you are following the right path into the future.

I agree with Adnohr, and I too have chosen Christ as my pilot...We talk often about the upcoming trip.

It is very interesting to read of your earliest childhood memories.

You're obviously being very reflective with your thoughts, and I believe that almost everyone goes through this at one time or another. I too have many, many memories from when I was very, very young, and have found myself thinking "If I only knew then what I know now!" But, that's a part of growing up, living and learning I suppose. No one ever said that life's journey would be all cake and roses . . .

Incidentally, about my comment on your previous post concerning your anticipation of Christmas, I just want you to know I wasn't trying to be negative, disrespectful or dampen your spirits in anyway. I think it was just the timing. A day or so prior, my wife and I were in a Hallmark store looking for Halloween greeting cards, and the store was already playing Christmas carols over their intercom. I just thought that was ridiculously too soon! Here's how I look at it: life is so short, and time shoots by so quickly, that I really don't want to rush it along in any way! I don't mind anticipating something that may be happening next week, but two months away? I have patience! I can wait! Christmas will be here in its own time, like the tide or the rising sun. But I certainly didn't mean to "steal your joy" or contradict your enthusiasm. If your anticipation of Christmas fills you with wonderful feelings, then you go right ahead with your thoughts. Soon, I will be there too. And don't worry . . . I know that Jesus is the "reason for the season!" Peace!

I'm sure your mother was so frightened for her baby walking outside by herself! There are times where the method used to help us learn is harsh; there are times we are not even sure why certain lessons need to be learned. If one is lucky, one is still learning until the day one no longer needs anything more from this plane, or this earth. I think you have chosen your pilot wisely, dear Justi.
