No you are not in trouble with anybody for anything certainly from me. I simply was telling you I lived those times.

Here I am, finally . . .

To be perfectly honest, I'm not entirely sure what this discussion/debate/argument is really all about, but somehow I get the feeling that I'm in trouble for something!

I believe the initial topic was how different people were feeling about the state of their country in these times, and all I pointed out was hearing several people over the years discussing how difficult times were back in the '30's, '40's, '50's, etc. Each decade, each generation, has had their share of difficulties for one reason or another, and each has found ways of coping that was indicative to their own personal situations. None of this had anything to do with any of the presidents anyone had to live under, including our current one.

The sniping that goes on between the Democrats and the Republicans is certainly nothing new. Years ago, people had respect for their president, and general respect for most politicians, considering them our "chosen leaders." That respect has waned over the years to the current point where it is almost non-existant. I am now of the mind that a politician is a politician is a politician. Gender, race, age, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, political leanings . . . none of that seems to really matter anymore. And anyone who truly believes that any politician has "their people" in mind or heart today is beyond naive. It's a clan. It's a click. It's a "let's take care of our own and to Hell with everyone else" mentality. And I see, hear and read evidence of it every, single day!

So, I really don't care what President Obama has to say about his Republican counterparts, and I really don't care what they have to say about him. We are the pawns trapped in the middle, who continue to blindly vote for these people, thinking it will actually make a difference. It's difficult, but sometimes you simply have to accept the fact that the "political train" that was once our great democracy has been derailed, the tracks have been twisted beyond recognition ( and repair ) and instead of trying to "fix things," our chosen leaders would much rather stand around the wreckage pointing fingers at each other instead of actually doing something about it!

And that's just one of the reasons why I don't vote, nor have any political affiliations whatsoever! Hopefully I've properly defended my thoughts and opinions without hurting anyone's feelings or stepping on anyone's toes. People can think what they want to think, and believe what they want to believe. These are my thoughts and beliefs . . .

We must try to remember that the majority of folks who watch NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, NPR think they are getting the truth about what is going on. They do not know that media matters writes all the news stories with a slant. They do not realize they are being propagandized.

I have to agree that a president must think of the country as a whole, not just those who vote for him.
