I am also very sad that you were sick for what sounds like an exciting trip and that dad had to eat alone. I am glad you could return on the railway, also exciting. I love to read about your childhood. You had the best parents!

Yes we luv to hear you retch as it is distant. Poor Mum she should have taken a stage coach. I think though there was an infamous robber around in those days. Love to hear about it though. I know there were no stagecoaches they had not been invented. Please carry on.

I am so sorry I did not read or comment on your post yesterday, but I was dealing with the passing of my sister. She passed away in her home sometime during the early morning, feel and hit her head. The police were there a long time and would not let us in for more than two hours...There was a lot of blood and she was so purple. I hope I haven't said anything to upset you and Wiley.

Thanks for the history and geography lesson, as well as the stroll down memory lane! Something tells me that, had I been there with you, your dad would still have been dining alone . . .

I love it! Of course I fully share your Dad's love for sea travel, but I can understand the problem with people who suffer from the mal de mer...I guess your Dad, like me, was one of the lucky ones who just don't get seasick...And of course I'd love to hear more about your travels...

He wanted so bad (it seems) for others to enjoy. So, I feel for him, sounds like he tried to make the best of it.

LOL - poor dad, you say? It's more like poor ladies of the family. Yes, definitely want to read about the return trip by rail, where I imagine the ladies were able to have a meal...
