Welcome to the Cassandra club.

Cassandra was a character in Greek tragedy who could see disasters before they occurred. Your piece shows that you appreciate what I have been saying and others such as Damon Leigh and ShawnMichael.

The reality is that much of the Bush/GOP follies can be averted if the American people see through their falsehoods and policies of greed. But like the Roman Empire and the British Empire it seems that the public is too concerned with other things and you are correct in saying that we too can decline and fall as they did.

I suggest you read this month's edition of The American Prospect magazine. It has many excellent essays about the choices America has in the Global Marketplace. The best choices are not being taken by Bush and the GOP which is, sadly, no surprise.

You See...
...much of what I see, and it isn't pretty.

Tribal Elders from all over thew world have predicted a major shift (collapse?) in 2012. In 2000, the date for this was brought forward to 2005/6. It's glaobal economic collapse and, perhaps, massive Earth changes caused by global warming.

They don't believe it's inevitable. Quite. But we're cutting it fine if we are going to turn things around in time. And a great first step would be to get rid of the Shrub, once and for all.

Great post!

Very, very good.

A recent commenter to one of my posts accused me of a doom-and-gloom outlook on the world. I responded to him that the recognition of evil was in fact a form of optimism. Such is it with your work. We must recognize and name the great evil that has invaded and infected the halls of power in our country.

Evil cannot last, my friend. It is my fondest hope that the Bush cartel will make such a huge blunder--if they haven't already--that the entire perverted house of cards comes tumbling down, once and for all.
