I just left a comment on pg scott's post on it, but yours fit into my way of thinking really well.
I would have added that the God of the Bible would know if you really believed or not. So just believing to play it safe would most likely land you in hell as well. So it is best to just be honest and deal with it all in the end.

unfortunately Cantley also inspired me to write a post on pascal's wager. But i think yours is better, especially, as Shawn has noted, the last paragraph.

The ending alone is worth the price of admission! I loved it!
Pascal's Wager also assumes that God, if there be one, cares that we believe in him or not. It presupposes a rather limiting anthropomorphic worldview, one entirely egotistical, considering this dustball is insignificant when compared to the overwhelming grandeur of the universe.
