Some good theories about the bang in the comments. Maybe the neighbor's and you can piece it together.

I have been sitting here wondering what could be wrong, what advise I can give at a time like this and all I can come up with, is go get Graysome out of the basement and ask him what's up...I do hope everything is all right.

Your grass cutter/lawn mower is gas operated and self controlled. That will be a difficult concept for you to grasp lover.

I'm sure you'll be forgiven eventually
Cats hold grudges, but usually only until they remember who fills the food dish! I wonder if the sweet kitty was trying to wake you because something was "up" in the neighbourhood? Either way, I hope you and Wiley are keeping cool and feeling good

When your bed isn't made up, it can make the whole bedroom look messy. I feel it's the same way with lawns. When they're uncut, they can make the whole yard look unkempt. But a freshly mowed lawn can do wonders for the entire property! And our little Riki occasionally has her own bouts of early-morning meowing, but never gets a time-out because my wife, who would probably be the one responsible for such punishments, never hears it because she could sleep through WW III! I, on the other hand, have to suffer because I can be awakened by a sneezing flea . . .
