Finding personnel that does what is needed, up to expectation and a good fit is very challenging. The way one appears initially is not often long term for a variety of reasons. It is wonderful that your Dad is there to prepare you to take over and that you listen to his advice and he shows you respect. This is not seen often. You are highly favored.

that's good your dad was in agreement with you. Too often parents pit themselves against their kids when a decision needs to be made for a business.
