I am sure it is each others company that keeps us coming back, it surely is not the wages. A fun read.

An Accomplishment
Your story about your arrival each morning at work sounds like mine for the last 22 yrs of my work life before I retired. I must say I do not miss it at all! :) lbj

I'm glad you're coming to like it here! I think we all appreciate someone as articulate and thoughtful as you are, and not afraid to speak her mind - I certainly do...

We all welcome new faces. Those new faces bring new ideas and writing styles with them. You are no exception. I have read most if not all of your entries. And you see...I still come back for more.
Yes there are occasionally people who get on their soapboxes (yes I am occasionally one of them). But that's the great thing. Sometimes it makes us think of things we haven't thought about or for that matter at times don't even know about.
So welcome....pull up that chair and make mine hot tea...I'll bring the brownies or bread pudding...

I know exactly how you feel. When I read others for a few days before even posting anythng. Once I did post, it was a whole new ballgame! People in here are warm and caring. As Ciel and Kabu said, you'll learn to love it, and for all the right reasons.

You are going to have lots of fun here for a really long time I can just
tell. The more people you reasd the more will read you back not really anything to do with the money...but because as you quickly realized we are a community and we all support each other...we get really fond of people that we never met. Writing is of course the common bond. Making money writing we all share the frustration of, but really it doesn't matter much. The frienship we have and the place to vent that isn''t open to all the world to see or read is well worth the monthly cost. I am glad that you are happy here because we all want you to stay....

I'll have mine with a splash of almond milk, please...
Yes, this is a special community, not because we are all professional writers, in fact, few of us here make any real money with writing. But you said it: we are people who love to use words, to write, to read, and to connect with others of the same inclination.
And after the first month or two, you will probably, like most of us, forget about the pennies. Until one day you realize they have added up to enough for a nice lunch, or a new toaster, or... if you let the pennies accumulate for a while, a weekend somewhere nice. In the meantime, the real value is exactly where you're finding it.
