From your first mention of RCMP, you had me singing an old-lady version of Indian Love Call.  But, at your mention of the RCMP uniform with the hat changed for a muslim headgear, I couldn't sing anymore.  You ruined it for me.  I will forever see Nelson Eddy in that way now.

We are having these issues as well in the United States...Christmas is also a time where there is a lot of animosity going on as well.

French Canada, in spite of all its baloney about Quebec Separatism, Distinct Society, etc., is standing its ground about Canadian and Christian culture more than Trudeau and other politically correct idiot politicians. The Quebec Soccer League is not allowing turbans, a municipal council fought in court, and won, about the right to pray before meetings, and the Quebec parliament will not allow knives, symbolic or otherwise, inside their doors. I have yet to go into a store here during the season to hear Happy Holidays instead of Joyeux Noel (Merry Christmas). This is a great post. I wholeheartedly agree.

Mia

One minor point of correction: the demand to be allowed wearing turbans came from a Sikh, not a Muslim - it is not a religious requirement for a Muslim to wear a turban. I do agree with you that it was wrong to give in to that demand although, in general, I have no problem with Sikhism.

But I do have a serious problem with our politicians for allowing the erosion and denial of our tradional Canadian and Christian heritage. The process began with Pearson and got into high gear with Trudeau, who pushed multi-culturalism as a way to defuse the tensions between the 'two solitudes', English Canada and French Canada...

This is so true. Did you know that those caught sneaking into Mexico from their southern boarder are jailed, fined, and sent back to where they came from...Once they pay the fine or work it off. True story.

same with Australia...These people pleaded to come they wanted freedom

but only for themselves. I will not say Happy Holidays. It has been merry Christmas all my life...I agree don't take the holiday if you can't cope. Better still, go away.
