I can't imagine living with that sort of fear
although I suppose it's something you would get used to, over time. I am lucky, to live in a place that is not prone to these sorts of violent storms (or earthquakes).

mThey showed footage on the news of a tornado last year in south central New Jersey. I know that they call wind storms tornadoes now here. But I don’t know if that storm actually was a tornado. It had the rising cloud. Whatever it was did a lot of damage in that part of New Jersey. In recent decades they did build lower buildings and opened spaces. In example they removed a railroad trestle near here. And homeowners cut down their trees in front of their houses. It's as if they want to impress the Midwest love.  BC-A, Bill’s R®st

Oh, it's a lovely photo, reminiscent of the Renaissance biblical paintings.
Those are summer cloud patterns, and in the photo at least, so peaceful.Â

Here in Indiana, I know of which you speak, TAPS!
That green color is chilling; when I see it, I feel dread! I have been through several close to home near misses tornado wise; the worst being in 2005 when a high-end F3 ripped through in the middle of the night. There were fatalities down the road from us; a young lady my son knew from school was one.
Lovely picture!

After last year's Hurricane Sandy, I can't even fathom living in an area constantly beseiged by tornados! I know it's easier said than done, but I would be considering relocating myself . . .

I think it's perfecly normal to have mixed feelings after such huge storms... well remember the first cyclone I ever experienced.. it was in Australia, I was in the shopping centre with my four year old and my eight year old was at summer camp, at the school... the sky turned a ghastly dark green and I was never so scared - for her - in my whole life. No harm was done, thank God - just a few trees blown down near the school buildings.

I suppose humans get used to most things in Time, Taps. I think I would have a shelter pretty near if I lived in the Alley. Although we sat on our tin air raid shelter and watched the enemy fly over.

What a beautiful scene she captured...The not knowing during the storm is so difficult on oneself.
