We have been having a lot of roadwork on the big road my neighborhood is located off. Fortunately, most of it is done at night. I imagine that is of little consolation to the neighbors closer to the road...Like you, I hate getting stuck in traffic...I know a guy who was a flagger as they are called (Harry James inThe Car Wash Life). It was quite the experience for him.

Believe me, I can empathize and sympathize! If I was to make a list of all of my grievances, all of my pet-peeves, all of the things that might make my head explode, sitting in bumper to bumper traffic is at the top of the list! Regardless of the actual cause, it is always a nightmare, especially here on the roads of New Jersey! This is why some people have ulcers . . .

Mia

I know exactly how you feel, really. Having said that, let me tell you how I am dealing with traffic problems (and were talking about the GTA here, LOL)...

I'm not the most patient of guys, and I'm also a leadfoot, LOL. But a few years ago I made a very conscious decision - I was was going to treat traffic the same way I treat the weather. I know I can't do anything about the latter, and I knew I needed to apply that same knowledge and attitude to the former.

And I amazed myself by discovering a) that it didn't take me all that long to adopt that attitude genuinely, and that b) it made a huge difference in other respects. I'm now always completely relaxed when I'm driving, and when I'm waiting somewhere I listen to music or think about stuff, and I no longer give a damn whether I'm late or not! I may sometimes make a call to someone waiting for me that I'm in traffic and I'll be late, I don't know how late, and not to worry...My leadfootedness still comes out on the highway on occasion, LOL...
