It was even better with the video. Monkey experiments are really unfair if they aren't moved to a reserve to live in afterwards; it should be a rule, only so long for experiments and then retired to a happier life.

A wonderful depiction of my workplace experience, even though I couldn't get the video to play. I know the story anyway.

Wow! That's pretty amazing! However, not too surprising! I think the financial wizards of Wall Street, and a few politicians, may have come from an Evolutionary off-shoot of the monkey on the left . . .

Re: Pat_B
"Mom always liked you best." I got that from two of my sisters (there were six of us), only it was "Mom & Dad" in their minds. What they failed to think about from their homes a thousand miles away, was that I was the one who had stayed in KC close to them and met their needs and took care of them when they got old.

Re: Justi
I've always loved the parable Jesus told about fair pay, and kept it in mind whenever I thought I was being treated unfairly.

When my Dad divided a tin of crab it was like a surgeon doing brain surgery. We kids were eagle eyed.

I love this video!
I saw it first a year or so ago, and that monkey's indignation never fails to make me laugh.... it is so... human!

Some people are innately more charming than others,
and they often are treated better. "Mom always liked you best." Sometimes it's perception rather than reality. My boys used to get into it about who got the big half, so I'd have one do the cutting and the other got first pick.

This is a great post. I love the experiment.Yes with more than one child you could face this frequently. I agree life is not made for fairness and only close through faith. Unfairness is what we experience emotionally a lot of times more than in reality don't you think?
