Its ironical how we get used to hearing sirens and don't even notice
them half the time...but for someone, it is an emergency and we'd better hear that siren and get our vehicles out of the way..

Maybe not every time you hear a siren, but quite often...I guess maybe its part of human nature..

Yes, its a very mourful sound to wake up to in the middle of the night...we have an ambulance station and a firehall very closeby to us, too...

We have an ambulance station very close to us, and I firehall as well...I think this was ambulance, just going by the tone of the siren...hopefully whatever it was responding to wasn't serious...

We hear sirens a lot here as we live near a fire station. We can also hear sirens (usually ambulance) on I-35 which is near here. They all sound especially haunting in the middle of the night.

It's the day here we test the tornado warning sirens.
Mournful sound, always reminds me of the air raid sirens from WWII newsreels about the blitz, reincarnated and digitized now for documentaries on the Military Channel.
