It is probably the most basic bond between women, childbearing. Certainly on a biological level, it is why we are here. So many other factors--personal, social, familial, etc--come into it, too, of course, but that remains the biological imperative and we spend our female lives dealing with it one way or another.

Growing up and making my way in the work force, I always preferred men's company. It took me a while, as I matured, to appreciate women's resilience, and their humour. I suppose we are looking for a mate when we are younger, and the biggest eye-opener was being pregnant for the first time. I found that even woment I didn't really know (at work) would come up and chat to me ... it's a great leveler don't you think?

Ignorance is bliss. Let her enjoy the sweet young time.
And pray she finds a circle of good friends when she reaches that certain age.
