It is interesting how different cultures respond to censorship and what is considered acceptable and what not.

JSeriously don’t cut yourself short. Those gnomes really do represent a time of outdoor home pleasure, gardening, enjoying nature, and loving freedom love. BC-A, Bill’s R®st

I assume that you've seen this picture of me before .
The reason I was looking so goofy was because I was standing under that statue of David looking up at his..... er...him.

If paintings and sculptures were all the censors targeted, we could

almost let 'em have their stilted, constipated opinion. I'm with you, Kabu, and with Ceil. I also think gratituous violence is worthy of censorship, while healthy depictions of human form should be considered normal, ordinary, awesome, acceptable. I'm just sayin'.

Yes but you are reminiscing Kabu. I doubt if you still feel the coldness of those statues.

No they ripple in your mind pulsing with life and desire, Sorry, but I shall have to censor your warm thoughts for poor Wiley's sake.

A great fun post, Kabu. i suppose being round was a sign of health back then, and health still is the most beautiful thing on a body, isn't it?

Re: What's art to one person is maybe offensive to another.

Personally, I find violence and casual slaughter far more obscene than anything bodies do naturally.

Kabu

And a censor on pox...

Kidding. I don't know. Not everybody who claims to be an artist is! Some ugly, dirty, bad stuff passes for art simply because it is shocking not because it is good. I don't want a seat on the judgment bench. What is good to me may not be to another so allow the other to speak up.
