Is the humor in cheating us thru the poem almost till the end that it is
about unrequitted love rather than a void because of death?

YThis is a breath full that you hold until you finish. I'm thinking of the technique of appealing to the senses in writing or in this case the breathing. It's a good poem for your username. It's imagery. BC-A, Bill’s R®st
