Reading this post is making me hungry, pretty impressive given that I got the flu right now.

arent mothers great at least back then, when there was no computers and all the electronics.  My mom loved to bake cookies.  Our tradition of Swedish meatballs carried over with me and my kids.

So now that we're all salivating . . . when's the food being served?

I love the cookies / biscuits at Christmas...

Shortbread is good any time of year, plain or with pecans and a cup of hot cocoa. And the house smells so good when cookies are baking. I'm beginning to think I should get busy with some of that...

That sounds like a superb Christmas meal! I think I'd like to try an Australian Christmas some time...

I remember my Aunt cooking on a hot wood burning stove...I loved going to her house as long as we didn't have to stay over. Your Christmas memories sound so yummy.

Strangely as I read your poor old Mum's predicament, I could not shake the the feeling that you were looking at it again through your snowy window as though you could not determine the strangeness of it all.

%Yesterday I had delicious chocolate mousse made by Olga Walsh of Parson Larson, cherry cheesecake, and other homemade cakes that tasted like the bakery confections love. BC-A, Bill’s R®st

I'm getting hungry reading this! And I'm also thinking of all the nice wine and beer that you had with all that good stuff...

What a yummy post!   I used to do a lot more baking than I do now, but we get along fine with bakery stuff that I pretend I baked.  LOL

Kabuiepie-;)~

We grew up in much the same households and families, except mine was inhabited by many more people. My British mother sounds much like your mum, with her 'pinny' on and the baking of puddings, cookies and fruit cakes. Well, you me and Graysome will have a jolly time as we do, huddled in the warmth of each other and memories of childhood.I love you.

Kabu

This sounds so yummy and beautiful. We can't imagine Christmas in such hot weather. I am drooling on my nice sweater all that seafood your sister is doing. Oh my goodness and the pudding with butter rum and cream. My goodness I would be 300 lbs. I love the stories you write about your culture. Hugs and kisses to you two!
