I do not know if we get them here, but a few summers ago we did have the roof of the barn blown off in something they call a down burst.

Well, that's a new one on me. This morning I happened to open my Dad's old Bible and a little piece of paper fell out. He was a good one for making notes about things that interested him. The note was about a chapter in the book of Acts where it was telling about the shipwreck of the boat on which the Apostle Paul was being taken to Rome. They were naming storms even back in that day. The storm in Acts 27:14 (KJV) was a Euroclydon which is a cyclonic tempestuous northeast wind which blows in the Mediterranean. So, I learned two things today along the same lines.

Interesting; I've never heard that word before
though I'm sure we've experienced derechos in this area. Learned something new..:) Glad the damage wasn't worse.
