HI have words for telling you that I think that a point that you made on your recent post about the union, approaching the rescue workers, helping victims of Hurricane Sandy to that effect gives steam to this being made a serious issue for further discussion and action by people in communities. It hits the very heart of the motive, spirit, intent, and sincerity of the workers. It has implications for volunteer fire departments. And, there’s a clothing drive run by the Volunteer Fireman’s Association. A similar case might be made that the sudden charge for ambulances and paramedics (formerly free as well) causes hardship for many in my area. God bless you love. BC-A, Bill’s R®st

That is the truth and that is fine. Disagreement does not have to be a fight. It is healthy to see all sides of any issue.

That is me. I will say my piece and do my thing if that is what we agreed to, I don't want to force another nor be forced. Right is right and wrong is wrong let's move on now. Happy Turkey day.

I think this is going to be one of those topics that will have a myriad of opinions, but not too much in agreement. And I agree with adnohr . . . get to the NHL negotiation table and put an end to this lock-out!

For myself, I have always believed in working for whatever I agreed to when I was hired. But, I must say that I have never turned down a raise or a bonus or a benefit added on after I was hired. I also have never hesitated to give my notice if I felt like the employer was not holding up his end of the bargain.

Yes it is a lot like that. Some work, some don't and all of them get paid the same.

I don't know anything about where Annicitta works or what she does. That was not the issue. Hers is an individual issue I am covering the whole. Having to join a student union and pay is too stupid for response. I understand how you felt about that.

Anyone can sue anyone for anything. This class action suite is that there was a large enough crowd, driven by enough force to bring it about. That is not what I responded to in your first comment. You said union saved your job twice. Why would an employee need the Union to save their job. The other thing is the push for share the wealth!

Well All I know Justi having always worked mainly for myself is that you don't get owt for nowt. I don't know anything about Unions, It always seems one man or woman is the driving force and the others follow.

I do believe in Unions if they do their job but I have huge issues with
the way they evolved in Australia anyway.
When I first attended University I was forced to join the Student union and pay. I said that i didn't feel the need to join the Union......I was told no join no go to University. So I joined. Perhaps that has colored my perspective some what as I had believed that mine was a free and democratic country.
On the Other side, it would seem to me that perhaps Annicitta has grounds for complaint against her employers. I am sure that no one would like to go to the games without food outlets yet that is really hard work and poorly paid and i admire that Gal for how she will work at any and everything to pay her Bills. So yeah, I do believe in Unions but ....and it is an enormous BUT that I have! Good post love, made me stop and think.

to respond, I am talking about large companies that would walk all over their employees if they could so the union has to help them get what they should get. My son had to go to his union just to get time off to go to the workmans comp doctor for an issue caused from his job. They would of just let him suffer and ignore the issue. The phone company I worked for is always being sued for the things they neglec to do for their employees. And as far as sharing the wealth these same companies pay their CEO a large amount and give them benefits that they dont fight for.

well justi....im not going rehash my opinion and this post doesn't change it...we will just have to agree to disagree....but we don't get any benefits whatsoever other than what is mandated by law....we only get dental on our 3rd year and a 2000 life insurance policy....no work no pay...no health insurance....no vacation pay....
