No I have a ladies bed that one steps up into and the second step lifts up so the "must have," sits in there, and the maid throws the contents out the window in the morning. Don't step past my place around eleven.

Re:A

One had to have a licence A, even in those days, it was laughable really once a German plane flew over and four frightened ladies clambered into the van with us. The pilot was probably lost but he did fire a few warning shots at some haymakers.

Re:

Jimmy usually little chicken pecking on a board or Angels flapping wings must have taken ages to carve. Swingng a small weight on strings beneath to operate. About 40-to 60 old pennies in those days when it was 240 old pennies to the pound.

Kabu can I interest you in a red pan for making wine, for Wiley rabbit snares, probably suitable for smaller animals. Or those hand-painted gussunder for delicately performed operations. Oh dear, Kabu I am laughing.

Re:

I think you're Dad must have watched the film where the little girl travelled with her dad,

selling Bibles. Remember we were all young at the time and did not have aches and pains to contend with.

My father was a traveling insurance salesman, he dragged me along and had me sing to his customers...I never got a cut, just a warm place to sleep and all I could eat...If we had anything...These must be warm memories for you CC...I had the three summers on the ranch.

It's interesting reading of those times. How we sell things has sure changed a lot over the years.
