Re: dsm_tchr

I am not a specialist on this subject, but what it says in wikipedia is that Ramen noodles are pre-cooked noodles.  They are  pre-cooked, so they are quick and easy to make.  Although cooking ramen noodles is recommended,  Koreans eat them without cooking them and sprinkle the seasoning packet on top  for flavor.

TAPS, if they aren't fried, how are they dried and compacted?

Freeze dried, or is that even done any more?

Taps that is such fun. I never thought of such. You are full of really wonderful ways to entertain. I guess a big family makes for fun eating exercises often. I know you are having a lot of fun.

Re: mneme

Ooops, I forgot that "spreckles" is a family term.  It is crushed red hot peppers that you find in a shake bottle to sprinkle on your pizza at pizza shops.

Re: Annicita

It's not true, you can check with the FDA.  But, it doesn't matter to me because other than my sisters and I having fun trying out crunchy Ramen to be silly, none of us ever eat the stuff.  All of us much prefer good pita chips and Mediterranean salads.

I hope the day never comes when I have to eat Ramen noodles.

I know lots of starving students used to eat them when I worked on campus, but I was always more attracted to potatoes. It is an interesting idea to spread peanut butter on them, though. Hmmm.

What are hot spreckles.... ?  Interesting use of noodles though... (it doesn't work with  nests of noodles - much too crunchy!)

I sometimes crumble them into soup Taps, you see I am a lazy cook, I always look for the ready in two minutes without boiling the water first. Keep the good hints going though.

I've never cared much for them, but these are interesting ideas, TAPS

I probably should watch my carb intake closer, because of my increased risk of diabetes due to using steroids for breathing issues, but I love my breads and don't have a weight problem, so...:)
