Your sympathy is enough. You do not need to show why or how. It is a great help to some and a total waste to others. Most people are there because they are on the wrong track at the time.

Everyone deserves a second chance, and sometimes a little more than a helping hand. I understand and can appreciate prison ministries, and the work and sacrifices the volunteers do, but I'd rather not get into why at this moment in time.

Thank you so very much. Prayers are the legs the move on at times. There is a woman in one of our groups that particularly takes up her cause and helps so much. These people could not make it without others. Again thank you sweet lady.

Re: Adnohr

I have kept her in my prayers, each night since you wrote about her the first time. There is something about her story that made her special in my thinking. I know she will try harder. Thank you for being there for her.

We have others who are involved in Prison ministry. We are involved in the local jail, drug rehab and the elderly as well as helping get people able to work if jobs come available. Some have been on drugs and or alcohol since young teen years and do not have a clue as to how to conduct themselves as adults on any sort of job.

Oh yes, I will be sure to pray for her. My heart goes out to all...It's great that you are involved with the prison ministry.

We are just two of many who do work in this area. We believe we voice it but it is God who does the work. God bless you dear friend.

It is the mind boggler or all times.I sure hope SIL stays off, it is not common for one to stay off without any assistance when they have been heavy or long time users.

it boggles the mind why people let drugs take over their lives, I am thankful my SIL is off that nasty habit and I hope he continues to be.

God Bless you Justi.....

This is a wonderful story....but your role in all of this is downplayed too much.  She is lucky to have crossed paths with you.

It does take patience. Sometimes there are people available to make up a room full who are just sitting while the work goes on, these are people who by their presence do a lot, they are bodies, people who do not look at them with disdain and fill the room to make a crowd of people who care about them. That seems shallow but it is important to them.

Thank you so very much. There are many people reaching out to others. That is  what it takes. Clinics do good but people need people to love them and to hold them accountable. Family is often too close to lay down the law and make an addict toe it that is where we come in. But we do work that lets them know we love them and want them to get clean and stay clean.

There is good materials out there from Celebrate Recovery. I don't know if it is International yet but it is National here. I can ask for materials for you if you want.

Yes and she has stayed clean and if she begins to take care only of herself for the time being she will do so very well. It is amazing you remembered. Keep her in your prayers.

I've said it before but I'll say it again - I really admire you and George for the work you are doing with these people! Would I have the patience? No...

Justi, is this the same Lisa? The one you mentioned last year, I believe? Who was in jail and was trying so hard?

What a horrible story, and yet it has its good parts.  What a blessing you are to people who need you.  How could one not pray for you and George and for those you touch.

Dear One we cherish your's and Wiley's prayers. There are many people doing what we are doing and many are coming to life for it; however, many fall back and we keep being there for them if they will show true progress. It is the power of prayer behind us that makes so much difference.
