Perhaps it was a lesson in "think before you speak." Sometimes spontaneity is good, but other times, it can get you in trouble!

Yes taps I remember reading about those and would be very cautious about buying such furniture. I remember the old primus stoves and we had asbestos mats on top even the old Aladdin lamps had mantles made of asbestos. During the Second World War asbestos pads were in our gas masks, makes you think doesn't it. I even know a chap whose dad built his house, well bungalow of asbestos sheeting.

If you are spending time on the couch, you might want to question whether it is one of the many couches that are filled with foam treated with the mutagen flame retardant chemical clorinated Tris.  Clorinated Tris has a tendency to remove itself from the foam and travel into the body of the one lounging on it.
