Comments on Politics and business

I can recall a scene in a movie when a ferry operator, working on a river in a "border state" just after the Civil War, told someone that, in his line of business, you have to be able to whistle either Dixie, or The Battle Hymn of the Republic, with "equal enthusiasm." Once you show loyalty to "one side or the other," you're open to ridicule, and a possible loss of business. It's a shame sometimes that people can be punished simply for stating . . . out loud . . . their opinion of something.

So true!

There is this vehicle I see nearly every day as I am driving to or from work. It is for a lighting company if I recall correctly.  But on almost all sides of the vehicle, it states that the company is "powered by Christ."

Every time I see this vehicle I shake my head.  Sure, it is good that they have faith, but they are cutting out a HUGE part of their would-be clientelle by having that on their car.  Not everyone is Christian, much less religious.

I have always believed that company property should never be used to propogate religious or politigal agendas.

Great Post as always.....one big law for the little business..never talk

Religion or Politics. You will upset a good customer every day....It would be nice if i could include in that, don't be rude to your customers but that is asking for too much.
