Re:

One more addition to my reply ace. It seems you've taken one word out of my poem to focus on. The poem, in whole, says so much more than that.

Re:

Hi Ace, I was reading some of my responses over again and ran across yours. I wish there was a way to tell if there is a new response to earlier pieces written, other than going back through all the comments on a particular poem, but nothings perfect I guess.

Ace, as far as the pain you read into my writings, there is some of course, I think many poets are at their best when they are writing about suffering for some reason. As far as the bible goes and the old testament vs. the new testament and so on. I don't have anything against the bible in and of itself. I believe whatever helps people live good and get through life is great. Personally, I choose not to take the bible as the gospel. Whether it's the old or new testament, the koran, or any other written word. Why? Because they've all been written by mortal men and men (meaning humans not gender specific) are fallable. So much is left up the interpretation of the reader and look at what happens, everyone interprets it differently and apply their own agenda. Yes, gvt, has used it as a moral compass through the centuries, but yet, it's said that religion and gvt are separate. Clearly not. I have nothing against the bible or it's teachings, I do hold some animosity towards those who use the words in the bible to justify their evil actions against humanity and those that do usually quote the old testatment, not the new testament, because it's in the old testament (which was written first) where they find the brutality they're looking for. I mean, for me, the new testament is like taking a horror book ( for example) and rewriting it, taking out the blood and gore, and putting it back on the shelf expecting people to read it and disregard the first edition. It's just not the same ace.

youversion is an app you can download on your cell.  I recommend that you download it..it's free and if you read it, a lot of the misconceptions that you hold may pan themselves out.  I came back to this poem to comment again because i see some real pain in your comments regarding the bible.  The U.S. Govt. was founded mostly by Deists.  Men who believed in higher being but recognized the Bible as a book that they could base their govt off of because of it's moral values.  I would like to know where the new testament says that men should rape or kill women or that women are less than men.  I read the Bible and I've never interpreted any of it's scripture to say such.  Religion in itself is not a good thing.  Muslims believe in beating women.  Christians, those who follow Jesus Christ's teachings, would never treat their wives in a violent way.  Again, if they are truely a Christian.

And the KJV is written in English. The bible was written thousands of years ago in Latin (universal language) and in Hebrew originally. Scribes had to translate. The parrables or metaphors are there bc you have to think men from that long ago had to write in a way that generations to follow would understand. If we wrote a book today do you think it would be easy tounderstand 3000 years from now?Dialects change and speech and all that.

Sure the old testament speaks of horrible things. But Jesus was anti religion. He taught to love and be kind. He stopped men from stoning a whore and said he who has not sinned cast the first stone. When Jesus came, the old testament you speak of is null and has no meaning to me. The Bible (new testament) is a book of faith and love. And remember if you don't believe in God why would you blame God for all of the atrocities on Earth. Satan is controlling the Earth in my opinion and wheN Jesus's prophecy comes to fruition, it will be Peace on Earth.

Re:

I hope so FS. I mean, really, why do they say not to use Gods name in vain, but you can use anyone elses name in vain. What is it? If we're supposed to have faith and believe in god why is it that everything is so convoluted and vague. Why is the bible written in parables that we have to figure out? If there's a message we need to get, why isn't it spoken in english or whatever language, so that it could all be understood clearly. Have you read the bible? Have you seen how violent it is, and how degrading to women it is? If armageddon can be predicted, why couldn't the negative effect on women the bible speaks be predicted. Why wouldn't the bible preach about how good men should treat women. Why wouldn't it say that women are our strength and that we should be cherished. Government, regardless of how separate it's supposed to be, is based on religion, the Catholic religion, it's roots are planted in "the word", so was it planned that women, races, other religions, genders, sexual orientation, were meant to be put down, and treated as lesser than? I don't know, I just don't get it. That's why I take the bible and religion with a grain of salt. Women are raped and beaten, wars, are started in the name of religion. Wtf is that about? It shouldn't be. Religion should be based on love, compassion, understanding and acceptance, shouldn't it? Maybe I have it wrong...
