I too am now a step mum. Going from 2 of my own children to 2 of my boyfriends as well. So now 4 all together. Which is not easy! I feel your heart my friend!

Don't be so hard on yourself. We do the best we can with what we have. Tough love with my only son in his teen years caused some estrangement between us, but their brains eventually return to their bodies and they come back to earth. My son is definitely his own person with his tattoos and hair, but he also is a terrific son anf wonderful father to 5 kids. Don't give up. Prayers to you and yours.

I will add you to my prayer list. If I don't do that, I forget so easily. I wish the best for your whole family. I've always felt a need to pray a lot for my own #1 Son.

Good - things are looking up for him. Maybe I'm reading this wrong, but it seems to me you are feeling very guilty about how your son has reacted to his life. Don't punish yourself.I believe that everything happens for a reason, although sometimes we don't see what that reason is until much later.
