That sounds very similar to the concept behind the Antiques Roadshow, except the appraisers only give the monetary values for the objects, and aren' t necessarily offering the people any money. And, most of the time, those people too are way off in what they feel their possession is worth, in either direction. One thought their clock was worth thousands, and it was only worth a couple of hundred. Another thought that their ugly painting was only worth a couple of hundred, and it was appraised at over $100,000.00! You never know! It's fun to watch!
