Well I guess it was fun watching everyone else relax and enjoy, lol..

In my healthier days and having a large house I was the one elected to be the worker bee hostess with the mostest on holidays and such. Kind of nice being the visitor. Kick back and have fun, Dear Kabu!

Kabu...

It never ceases to amaze me how busy each day @ home can be doing all the things that needs, should, or could be done. I enjoy doing anything that denotes creativity, whether in our flower garden, yard, or home. If I didn't always come up with new experiments, adventures or ideas for Hubby and I,  he would suspect that I didn't feel well; although I'll have to admit my crushed chest and broken ankle along with painful road rash from our cycle crash did slow me down considerably last October. My ankle still isn't what it should be, but I fared better then the deer and our Harley Davidson Electraglide (which was totaled).  At least Hubby miraculously sustained little damage and took really good care of me.   Now, with that and so much more behind me this last two years, I get so much accomplished even though visiting the computer is such a common practice for me.  LOL

Sounds like you and Willey will learn to handle retirement just fine.  I hear some say they are busier being retired, then they were when they worked a full time job.

I am glad you enjoyed the baby bird pics. I enjoyed your visit and comment.

no holiday here, but when you work on a Sat, the pay is the same as long as it is within the 40 hour bracket.  People who work with my daughter are all complaining about working every weekend, some threaten to quit if they have to work every weekend.  Jobs in caregiving are easier to find so they dont worry.

Long weekend -- That's how retirement feels at first.

But then you develop a new routine, find you actually have time to follow the news of the day, pay real attention to tasks that got a 'lick and a promise' when you were working for a paycheck, and you begin to wonder how you ever had time for a job.

Holidays make sense if one works otherwise it is a job to distinguish one day from the next, now what other words of wisdom can I say, not much other than I have got suncream lotion in my eye and you were right, but don't tell anyone.

Oh you make my bones ache just remembering. We should be able to retire from all that stuff by now. I thought I enjoyed it then but looking back I don't think so. Good talking time is far better than all that. Love you dear lady, you two have a great week....

Those weekends can lead to a different sort of work.

I volunteered to work holidays a lot since I was night nurse and couldn't stay awake in the daytime anyway.  LOL  Happy Holiday.

It can be a blessing or a bane for those who work! I am excited for the Memorial weekend that is coming up in the States! I hope to be well enough to have the BBQ at my place with a horseshoe tournament, too! sam

When you’re retired one day just kind of rolls into the next and a “Long weekend” doesn’t carry many expectations. If it’s chilly (a little gloomy here today) you curl up with a good book and if it’s sunny outside you might putter in the garden.  We're newbies to the retirement thing but we're adapting quite nicely.
