I usually take price changes in stride, after all, everything else is going up and that must be passed on somehow.

FSI

It must be difficult maintaining a logical price. Where we go here we pay $10.00 for the wash, wax and drying with no attendant there even. There are price choices when your paying but we always get the wax done......

It's a car wash life for us!

Sounds like a take off on Little Orphan Annie's "It's a hard knock life for us!"

It is interesting to learn about the undercarriage customers.  Also, it seems you Dad knows the business well, as well he should.

i am remembering back in Sydney where one took the car for a small fortune

and car was detailed inside and out while you sat and drank coffee in a nice cafe. Still there too I took note on this last trip.

I think you all will continue to do well because of your good business sense. You may have also read this but I thought of you while reading.

FS I was paying 5 sterling and they upped it to 8 so I stood my car out in the rain as it was not really dirty and I don't think that little bottle of detergent spray and a wipe over with a dirty rag improves the condition.

Re: lustorlove

We haven't lost any customers. Like you I don't like price increases either, but as you said with rising costs (i.e. chemicals and parts) they have to be done.

Re: TAPS

A customer receives two soap passes, two rinse passes, spot free rinse and a drying...It definitely is worth it if the car's not too dirty.

I would guess people shop around for the cheapest price like they do anything else, and its not life threating to have a clean car so they may do it themselves or go longer between car washes.  I am totally against price increases of any kind, sorry but the other companies raise the cost of products it hard not to.

You've probably told us before but I can't remember and I'm just curious.  What does a customer get for the cheapest wash and is it worth doing that?
