I have always had an incredible memory until lately and it is only short of current happenings.

Re: Justi
Thank you Wiley. They were really busy but I guess they were good parents, there was none of the stuff we have today... Like every kid has to go to Disney World you know...

My goodness how utterly frightening! I doubt I would have said anything either! I am impressed with the clarity of remembering as well! sam

I love reading about your childhood, and I too remember taking meds like penicillin for quite a spell and I didn't care for it either. You had great parents luv.

kids these days are always at rest at a game or a computer and husbands are lucky to get anything served to them

an excellent read and it is beautiful to be in the child's mind like this.
Before I was given Penicillin injections for tonsillitis i used to have to swallow big pink square Sulphur drugs. They left an awful taste in my mouth. and then i had to drink tons of water after. Oh Lah...your writing has set me off remembering my own childhood. LOL.

That was very scary. I would not have liked it one bit.

I absolutely adore these stories of yours! This one's a bit like a child's 'As I Lay Dying', lol...

It was a very scary thing. I don't know what they gave me but I believe they thought I would die. It is one of the things they did not talk about later and I only remember that but nothing of the surroundings. I don't remember anything until penicillin came about. Thank you for your comment.

Justi I guess you were lucky to make it in those days didn't a pill called MB tablet come about a bit later on, I guess you were what we call in good nick. My dad had pneumonia three winters' running and they prayed for him in church, he was ill for weeks when we were little children. There did not seem to be any cure, he did recover eventually. A very nice article.
