Somehow I get the impression your gas prices (petrol to you, LOL) are even higher than ours - yikes...And your poem is delightful, as always...

I had that happen once while shopping at Sam's Club. They did not take Discover, and I had to pay with cash and did not have enough. I had to let a box of candy go.

ÿZ This afternoon I’m going to take a walk to the supermarket and change my pennies into paper money with the coin changer machine sir. I'm up against time. BC-A, Bill’s R®st

I love the poem - finding something unique is everyone's dream, I think

I know what you mean,, it seems the prices rise every day. Soon enough they will charge us just to go in. I liked your poem and thought that the ending bound it all up nicely. Reading through all your comments and I see that you are quite the hit with the blogit ladies CC, now don't get riled, I'm just trying to make you blush.

Kabu my car is 12 years old as long as it is road worthy, I'll string along with you. When it packs up I shall have a chauffeur driven one, paid for by my good friends who contribute towards these comments, in 10 years time, I shall buy the steering wheel.

Re: Just lovely poem

Mandy no, I just wrote it because I could not be bothered to sort a re-write out. It has probably happened, but I did not understand it at the time

Dear CCT

I don't  think I can think of anythig I can say that says more what I feel than the words of adnohr said. This was just another of the best.

What a delightful character mix you are, C.C.! The ironic wit, a shooting from the hip dude, yet so kind hearted and so romantic!! I don't think I have ever read one of your posts without being awed...and every time there's a tidbit to bring out a smile.

A great love poem and gas is getting expensive here too. Oh yes, I can forget the pin numbers too, very unsettling old chap.

I love the juxtaposition between the daily experience

and the wistful romanticizing. It's what we do.

Just lovely poem

Did you write this because of something that has or had happened now or before.  You know us poets have a way of seeing it all inside our head where others don't get to see behind the scene.  Very nice writing. You don't have to answer my question.  Mandy

it is true, those that inherit will spend the money. we have a tiny little

car that is very light on fuel. But then, we aren't interested in status symbols.

love the romantic little poem.
