I love the sound too! And I am with you, more of a nature nut than a free spirit! sam

Kabu

Isn't that just a marvellous sound?

Hello Kabu

Wolves excite me, and I have a lot to learn from their tenacity. A beautiful Haiku, too. Sorry I tend to keep missing for days, damn that workload .

Love it and enjoyed sharing your moment of peace.

Kabul

I love your Haiku....and whole post.  I've never lived around wolves but we have lots of coyotes and mountain lions  and I loved the whole "feel" of what you wrote here......I feel it when I sit on my deck late at night and listen to the night.

I think a lot of people are fascinated listening to wolves howl.  It is similar to watching a fire in a fireplace.  Just don't get too close!

In fact here's one of the doggies that is really worried

I would think the wolves might be a bit of a worry for the Iditerod runners and their dogs about now.

Kabuiepie-;)

I slept right through it this time but I've always loved that howling and a few times went out back and howled with them which was really fun until one came into the driveway. Loved your Haiku darlin'

I loved that. I can imagine it is truly close to the wilderness when you have bears out back and listen to the wolf calls. Neat for sure. Like the Haiku. It would like a neat place to live.

My wife ( a huge animal lover ) loves wolves too. And we both get just a little miffed sometimes when a "scary" movie uses a wolf's cry in the distance to signify something frightening! I try to tell people that they're just calling to one another, that's all! It doesn't mean they're about to attack the campsite!

Loved the Haiku, and thought you might like to know that we have wolfs back in Utah, migrating here from those they transplanted in Yellowstone all those years ago. Adds a who new feeling to when one walks in the wilds now.

You're a nature nut? That makes at least two of us.

Wolves do sing a night song, I remember them

from childhood. I feared them at times, our neighbor had a half-wolf who liked to stalk us as we ran home from her house to ours after a card game. I so enjoy your nature posts and the haiku. Wow!

Kabu do not run out in your nightie and take a photograph, I don't like the sound of those wolves being so near, a good thing they cannot get in the garage now. I suppose the bears are asleep, thank goodness. A good effort on the hapax legomenon.

Hauntingly strong and well done, Dear Kabu

I think you would be leader of the pack..:)
