I love the poem! How realistic, too! I have always wanted white carpet in my bedroom but I know I would get it soiled some way or another so I stay away from it! I would get firm with him, too! sam

Re: CCT

Bill, well I suppose I would've liked to be one, but then that would only be vanity talking .

I should like to write one poem that would be valid down through the ages, well one can only dream.

Re:

Adnohr I suppose everyone tries to get away with things, it is human nature, well it is round this part of the country, you may be more easy-going in the wilds.

Re: What a lovely flirtation, once the last line sets it all in place.

Pat loved your description, would that one could write like that. Well he came marching home with two Ash trays for his fishing mates but he said he makes them sit in his tiled kitchen if they smoke, I have a bit of peace when they come.

Re:

Taps are you kidding, at least if he stays the night he is always gone in the morning. So I don't know what kind of sleep is scheduled in his routine. I suppose I don't have to worry about lunch as he loves cooking, he is as much as a muse as a wooden wardrobe would be. Although now as it has become a computer expert by merely reading books, I don't have to worry about any repairs or discrepancies in that field.

Re: Arthur is a bit bossy but I suppose his heart is in the right place

Kabu, he is a pain in the ass sometimes, but I think everyone feels a bit nostalgic for the old Homestead later in life. I wonder is your car an automatic.

Re: I do not know your relationship to Arthur

Amanda he bought a house near me and soon afterwards found he had a worrying condition, not serious in itself, unless one dies of fright. I think sometimes he feels a bit nervous as he told me once when he lived in the city that he used to lie with 1 foot outside his flat door, in case he would not be found. He is quite clever and used to lecture in Germany and USA had lovely girlfriends, but he did not want children, he did not wish to inflict his disability onto offspring.

Jay I had another look at it and the one he was admiring was nice, but I have to put my foot down, I would have liked it for myself, but it was about $600 in your money. Anyway it was too large it had a massage unit installed. I don't want him using more electricity.

To me Arthur is one of the main characters in your life and of course you will let him have a rocker and a footstool made from magazines...Liked the poetry too.

I do not know your relationship to Arthur

or why he is constantly at your home.  I don't mean to prod, but I can respond better is I get a wider picture of people.  I did like your kindness to the cat.  Carry on!  Mandy

If Arther kept to his own white carpeted place you would really not have so many things to write about.  You need him to be your muse at times, so keep him near and pamper him.

Great and fun poem to read.  I loved the ending.

What a lovely flirtation, once the last line sets it all in place.

I really love the story that just built itself around this, a glowing fantasy castle made of emerald blocks that catch the light.

As for Arthur's rocking chair / ottoman, you are right. He should make use of his own space, white carpet or no.

Ahaha! Loved the surprise ending of your poem. Talent, Monsieur!!! Nope - I wouldn't let Arthur take over like he's wanting to do either!
