I thought about getting dragon installed but I'm afraid of fire.

Re: Personally, I wouldn't trust a dragon with my writing businees,

but do as you think best.  I find them inconvenient pests with all that fire-breathing and treasure-hoarding kind of thing.  Guests hardly ever return.  Had to rent a knight to get rid of it.  Toes okay?

Re: Re: Well, it handles the calls themselves just fine-

annicita - it just goes a step too far in trying to make a voiced version.

WEll I can tell you something Bob since I have had Dragon only a couple of weeks it will spell words I would not normally use like onomatopoeia or Bobsyouruncleorhemighthavebeenyourauntie. I actually think it is because I am the only one using it and if I say cum yer it will politely write.,say that again. MUST RUSH MY TOES ARE COLD.

Re: Where I used to work there was an audio to type program,

Pat, I know the old dictaphones (as an office boy in the early fifties, part of my job was shaving those old Dictaphone black cylinders for re-use), bit I never heard of (a) Kurzweil.  What is that?

In a way there's a crazy kind of unexpected inventiveness in those garbled versions that come out!  Working with nothing more than we give it, it comes up with something pretty original.  Like there's a mimic in there mocking us sometimes.

Where I used to work there was an audio to type program,

and at times I tried dictating to Kurzweil, or having it say aloud something I had typed. I tried it as a time-saving method. I laughed so hard at some of its suggestions and was so distracted I had to go back to the old faithful Dictaphone.
