It is getting tougher for people to afford to send mail. With electronic means to do things that does not spell well for postal services.

but you guys seem to have short memories so I can just start from the beginning after a few weeks . If you did not make that comment we will blame Rumor as he can't be here.

Dear me Naut I think that gulf stream saves us from freezing up, but the wind has no such virtue at the moment I think it is blowing from Scandinavia this week. If the Gulf stream changes or is changing we shall welcome Global warming, but don't tell anyone.

Re:
Adnohr you would be shocked, you would be giving the ornaments away, the customers are always trying to knock a few pennies off. They stand out in the open as well. You might not br far off with your plant care more die from over-watering.

I can always sleep in a chair Wiley, when I sell up and get my new apartment I will devise a special guest room. It must have been someone else who said it then. Perhaps you meant standing on your head.

Re: In my mind portrait of your setting, with house and greenhouse
Well honestly Pat it seems so ordinary, but but guess I am in a time warp. I have 4 greenhouses one day if I can I will show an aerial photo I have one somewhere. Archie would be very uptight he drives a lorry. He is still a little softy at heart, but likes to play the tough guy, he calls me Arthur Daley.

My first attempt at a comment obviously failed! I had written a brilliant observation about something terribly important, but now I forget what it was...Ah yes, maybe your central heating, aka the Gulf Stream, got shut off, which is why it gets chillier in your neck of the woods than here - we had a balmy 8 here in Canada...

I'd be good with a booth selling ornaments. I really don't know alot about plants. Bird left me his, warned me to take care of them. I forget them sometimes, then notice the big one drooping, and run to get water. Poor Archie - he gets alot of payback, LOL!

I wondered why you had your word count from time to time! lol I just read and never pay attention to length! You are entertaining so it's alway over before I realize it! How fun to be in a garden club! We have them here but with my transportation woes I have never bothered to join! But, now that my daughter is moving back perhaps we can join one together! I love how you win even though there isn't much in it for the money, the fun of winning would be enough for me! Now you have reminded me that I need to get hold of my oldest son because I will be needing manure this spring too! Stay warm! sam

In my mind portrait of your setting, with house and greenhouse
and the grounds thereabout, I see it painted in the style of Monet, just a bit off-focus and green, with wonderful dabs of color here and there, reflecting waters, overhanging branches, and geese waddling in self-assured strolls. I see Archie with his buckets, or pulling a hand-cart with milk-cans. It's no doubt all wrong, my image, but it gives me a smile and a sense of homecoming to think of it. Thank you for all this. :)
