Well, here's my penny, or it's cents even for you guys these days, isn't it? I can't remember, and can't be bothered to look it up. And while I am a good cook (actually I'm a superb chef), I never, ever bake...And why don't you wait until Christmas to do in the goose? I'll send you a great recipe for a fabulous stuffing...

Re: I've never been a great cook. Regular food, nourishing and
Pat it is so simple. My Mum made them and I would not have rememberd but the S.I.L copied it . I like mediem eggs they are better quality from younger chickens.
Say 4 eggs wiegh if one likes but nearly 8 ounces less shells/
Egual amount soft sugar and equal amount of a good sponge
making flour. No fat only to line two tins, I usually rub butter round.
Mix well; pour into tins, put into a preheated oven your usual heat for cakes etc.
My S,I L leaves them twelve mins and then turns them round but I usually
turn them right over as I like them well done smother with jam when when cool, and
slap together.

Re:
Sam Oh very suave I find they are a bit of a nusiance actually as I keep forgetting they are there. The chap left the bill on the doorstep instead of knocking, you can't be angry with him it is the way they carry on. Sam you will have to steel yourself for a mind change soon all that worry will have to go somewhere. Perhaps you should start courting.

Andnor I have to carry ten gallons of water over for it every morning I would not mind a miniature pig but it might not stay that way, I'll just wait and adopt something.

No, not too long. I loved every word of it.
I would love to hear the last trumpet call of the goose.
In fact, I would love to hear the last trumpet call of a few of the millions of geese sitting on the lake across the road. The path I like to walk is dotted with piles of poop.

The cat is doing what all cats do - the unpredictable! Poor old goose - it's nice that you have the heart to still help it out. Who is taking over???

It wasn't that long and quick reading because you are very entertaining! I don't think I could ever be brave enough to cook by aroma! I am a timer all the day long! I use the timer for everything it seems! I have a tendency to go off and do something else and forget about the kitchen so the timer keeps me on task so to speak! So sorry about the goose, but the end will come when it will! How are you enjoying the new look of your kitchen with the doors installed?! CC, it's getting so close I can hardly stand it. Not long now and he will be outta there! sam

I've never been a great cook. Regular food, nourishing and
in some cases comforting okay. Cake mixes from a box are fine with me. But I have no idea what sponges are -- at least the kind you bake. Is it a sponge cake? A souffle? I'm visualizing it as a cake, esp. when you mention sugar and flour.
This is going to puzzle me all day.
