LOL at Naut's comment!!I find I can get lost in Blogit for hours - reading, commenting, answering comments. By the time I read all my favorites (of which you are one), and even though I would like to read new bloggers, it's the time that is lacking. Where do you get the thornless blackberries?

I think of how long it has taken to get your cupboard doors on, and then I think of how many years I have been going to do this or that around the house, but I have four days coming up so I told my wife I would get back to work then...I suppose I am just putting off the punishment you know.

Re: your last remark is so true....Wiley is still an outsider here after more

Kabu I know it would drive a woman crazy but still not many to go now. I think I have him on the boil.  Well I suppose it is like this everywhere now, no communication pressing the flesh, sort of thing. Never mind you can throw me out of the window, that's good isn't it back to obscurity.

Re: I sometimes offer tradesmen a drink of water, or a coffee,

Pat same here I don't want them to get done for driving. Sometimes though if one is not careful, they will drink coffee until the cows come home. The trouble is when I pick blackberries or strawberries I keep sampling them and so freeze most as I do not feel much like them at the time.

Re: C_C_T...we've lived in this same house almost 40 years now.....

I think it is pretty general Rumour television and computers replace socialising .

Mind you could have too much of that if you have people like old Elly calling three times a day.

Re:

Justi  the trouble with new comers usually is they just keep loading and never reply to anyone, I sometimes feel sorry for them and explain that one should load slowly and reply to one or two even if they don't like the work . Ir rarely makes a difference. I think probably the only way to increase bloggers or readers would to do a cheap rate for non income seekers ha ha. Yes Justi it is a pleasure to pick thornless I am surrounded by pricklies but one border is sometimes dosed with weed killer by a neighbour so I keep away from those.

There has been a consistent decline in the last couple of years. Here are three things I think may be responsible: 1) all people used to answer their comments the way you do and sometimes people would write back and froth several times in a day. It was more exciting. 2) There was a blogger who found out who was new each day and made a list of them and encouraged others to read them, that helped. 3) Everybody appears to be much busier outside blogit now than they were but a few years ago. We are not making as much money although it is peanuts it was much more than now. I loved this post. The thought of having thornless blackberries is terrific. We love your work.

C_C_T...we've lived in this same house almost 40 years now.....

We've seen people come and go, and a lot have stayed...their kids, as have ours, have grown into adults, some with children of their own (no, not ours..lol)....our two neighbours on either side of us we would trust beyond measure, but times have changed..the newer arrivals around the block are much more reserved and about all we get from them, if we're lucky, is a wave....

I sometimes offer tradesmen a drink of water, or a coffee,

but never alcohol. I want their minds as sharp as their tools, so things line up level and plumb. As for the blackberry pie, the season is short and the pleasure is worth the few extra calories once or twice a year. I dearly love wild blackberry preserves.

Reading this brings me back to when I renovated my house. It was great seeing it all materialize.

your last remark is so true....Wiley is still an outsider here after more

than 20 years and I will never fit. I am used to that. A rolling stone gathers no moss and that suits me!!

Only some of the cupboards...I can't stand it, it is too unfair to you.
