I can't add much to what others have commented, CC. Naut is right - it puts the era into the reality of the thing - hard times and very little help. An eye-opening poem, to be sure. Excellent!

Indeed, the seller knows the value and the glee and love a flower can bring! This was great imagery! I finally have things in order! I was able to get my laptop hooked to my TV. I have a small one that is in my den! But now I can put the baseball games on the TV and I just need to buy an audio cable some time before the season begins. But that is in April so there's plenty of time! What a day it was though! All the darn serial numbers and such! This time around I have made a file and hopefully and I pray this is it, it will solve all future problems. I have been communicating with the folks at Corel to get a serial number for WordPerfect. I have sent the last of the information they requested so hopefully by tomorrow I will have a new serial number so that I can reinstall it on my computer! I saw your comment and I wish I lived next door to you, too! I would love just to have tea and commensurate my computer woes with you! lol sam

CCT

That sure strips the veil of romance from the era of heraldry, jousting and lovelorn minstrels...

"give to your love and she will love you"....

Well, C_C_T, at least the flower seller has the right attitude (which is more than the Lords and underlings have)...reminds me of "give, and it shall be given unto you"...a very gentle poem very nicely put....

I had to read it twice myself.  Very witty and ingenious!

Life is but a moment and then we are gone, of course the coppers stay here, it is only the smell of flowers and such that can go with us.

lords for having more than their share and their disregard for the feelings of others.for the way most of the folk had to survive...well still do.
