A couple years back I remember smashing my finger. Talk about intense pain!

how kind you all are ...yes I exercise the finger and rub it with

deep heat ointment...use it or lose it, that old saying is the truth. Thank you for all your kindness and caring. I have learned to live with it and as it was self inflicted sort of, I don't give myself sympathy. So your sympathy is like being enfolded in Mother's arms for a few precious moments.

Since tearing a ligament in a finger I''ve thought of writing post urging

caution because the hands are the most difficult to repair. My Dr. said they'd only recently found a way to fix this type of injury. It required a hospital stay and wearing a splint for a year. So, I chose to live with a crippled right hand, rather than endure the long fix.  The injury happened with too much forcing of hand while opening a bottle.

Pain anywhere still hurts.  You may never think much about that area until there is some injury and then, you know about it. Hope it subsides.

Kabu

I have heard there's a remedy for that sort of thing: fill a glass with scotch, dip your finger in the glass, drink the scotch, repeat few times, as often as necessary - the pain  will definitely disappear...

A finger that is a 10++++ in pain doesn't sound unimportant to me, Kabu. Are you sure nothing can be done about it?

Kabuiepie-;)

I hope our Blogit family understands I can't make a nurse fix a finger because if I say anything, like "I'll get something to rub on it," she gives me the finger. On top of that all she had to do was ask me and I would have moved the rock but l'il Ms. Independence doesn't want me to do anything since my heart attack, but I'm not quite as useless as she is making me out to be. So how the heck is she going to look after me from Australia eh? I hope there's no rocks on the aeroplane she'll play with.  I love her anyway and I hope immigration let's her come home.

Honey a hurt is a hurt whether it is your finger or your pocket book! Be blessed and keep that hand warm and cozy so it will not hurt so much.

The hurt that keeps on giving, I hope the weather up there does not change to often.

That kind of pain can make you forget there's anything else

in the world. Amazing how it takes control of thought, imagination and one's desire to move. Hope it's all better now. I won't insult a professional nurse by suggesting a remedy, but I would NOT recommend vicadin. That stuff is nasty!
