Re:

Don't you start adnohr Do you know we dare not cut a tree down unless we do it surr+++  well secretly . I don't live in a wood these are only fir trees and they take the sun away from the fruit trees a little pruning is always necessary and there is a beautiful silver Ash being deprived of nutrient.

Re: C_C_T...we used to put a wreath on my Dad's grave every year

Rumour Well it is not far to go for us to reach the cemetery  it is on a hill and  as I am more or less in an old stone quarry if I had a long enough plank I could level it to the graves and my bedroom window and cycle there in 4 minutes.

You wouldn't really cut down a tree just so that cousin might find the house number, would you? Looking forward to your answer to Pat_B's comment. Can you imagine the story she would do on that?!

You always have so much interesting stuff in your posts that by the time I get to the commenting, I can't remember what I was going to say about what.  One thing does stick in my mind though and that is for you to be very careful about going out in the cold when it is slick underfoot.  We don't want to read about any injuries from falls.

CC -- I was struck by your comment on Kabu's post

about the Christmas your dad was carving the goose, formerly a pet. I hope you won't mind if I write a little story with that as the central incident. I could just visualize the poor man feeling bad because he was broke and had to kill the goose. Or, perhaps he bought the goose to fatten it up and didn't count on getting attached. It has the makings of a story to which so many of us can relate.  :)pat_B

C_C_T...we used to put a wreath on my Dad's grave every year

about a month before Christmas...we'd take my Mom out to the cemetery (it was the one time of the year she'd go out there), lay the wreath and say a short prayer...now, since my Mom passed on, we no longer do this as we feel its better to remember her alive and well sitting in the living room with us on Christmas Day....
