I'm a seasonal contractual worker in a school setting so planning ahead is crucial for survival. It's very easy to loose control when there is money in the bank...oops gotta save for slow days ahead.

FSI, being in business of any kind demands a year long plan
just to make sure all the bases (basics, too) are covered.
..thinking ahead is always good.

Our store has slowed down as well and they have reduced the hours of most employees, but lucky for me they need a good graveyard man so there is no change to my hours, as a matter of fact they have added 8.

I so agree with you that planning is essential! I read an article this morning that said retail business make 40% of their annual sales the last two months of the year! So it goes hand in hand with your thinking in this post! sam

yes I always wondered about the companies that are seasonal, starting with Halloween and on to Cristmas, the must do something else the rest of the year.
