It's stories like these that keep us wondering and checking into

the mysterious world we live in. Since both cattle and Koalas are generally peace-loving, it does make us want to scratch our heads in wonderment.

Some things in nature are unfathomable

but the human species no doubt baffles the animal kingdom too. Poor, adorable and orphaned baby; glad he survived.

Good morning Kabu,

A sad story, but a happy and unusual ending.  I had never heard of this before either.  It goes to show that animals do take care of each other.

Kabu, you've stirred up our interest with this story. Now we need an article to explain why the cows would react this way. I know you write great stuff, and so how are you on research??

Nature all has it's laws but this is such a little cutie. A cow is so much larger than a little bear, I wonder why. Thanks for sharing this.

When we trekked through the big pasture to get to the swimming hole

Mr. Talbott's cows could be relied upon to charge. We could get through the bull's paddock without stirring his interest, but the cows were always more vigilant and aggressive. I escaped several times by running from one creek bank to the other on a fallen log. The difference is, bulls close their eyes, put their heads down and run for where you were when they started. Cows keep their eyes open and their horns pointing.

Well Kabu I wonder if they give off a smell that frightens the cows. We might not even smell it ourselves a cow is pretty docile really but if it triggers a reaction in one it might sweep through the herd/. Look how they will attack a dog even if someone has it on a leash . Even people have been injured at times as you probably know. I keep meaning to ask is your knee better,

I think the cows must be jealous of how cute the Koalas are.
What on earth kind of threat could they pose to cows when most of the time they are up in trees?

I did not know that cows would perceive koalas as being a threat. I am glad to read that this koala was able to survive.
