We have the same thing here with the falcons, they even show them where they nest on the buildings as they raise their young.

Re: CCT

Knowing you Bill you were looking for black sheep and I would like to have a look at your credentials, you are in the Shepherd's Union I assume? I think that you will have to tent up with the milkmaids.

It seems like we've come full circle - no money then, and very little of it today.I still like the idea of buying chocolates too far ahead of time, then having to eat them before they go bad.

CCT

T I went shopping for sheep. The store made me leave my shepherd’s staff near the door. The Wall street protestors are on the grass with the sheep. No backpacks inside and no tents and sleeping bags are allowed outside in the States sir.BC-A, Bill’s RLJst

Re:

No screaming in the shops 'I want that,'  "no you can't have it'  a minute later the child is walking round with it unconcerned.

When I was a child, there was no such thing as "an allowance", at least that I know of.  If we asked Dad for money, his first response was always, "I don't have any."  But I guess he would then start thinking it over because the next morning we would find money in the shoes under our beds.  After I reached 12, my main source of spending money was from baby sitting.

I did not have pocket money either! Growing up my biological father had a logging business and we worked for him but without any payment! It was just expected! I do think that we got a few coins once a week or so to spend freely! I understand what you are saying about the prices being high for the things we really need! I try to find deals on ground coffee because it is getting sky high! Nothing on Archie today so he must be being a good fella! lol sam

I just love wandering down your memory lane with you. It is so

rich with colour and life. No complaints just a telling of how it was.

I ddidn't get pocket money either, I was just expected to do somethings like collect the kindling each evening for the kitchen stove. Mother would gift us girls with a little package of lollies when she went shopping on Fridays. Threepence worth. One time my sister was given three big pennies and i got a tiny little threepence......the howling wouldn't stop until the money was swapped over...even then I wasn't happy because why should I then have more money than my sister.
