Badly handled Justi. It was like when a chap stopped me outside a store because the assistant had not taken the code breaker off a Kettle. Mistakes do happen, but taking the child was obscene.

I have thought about this one and I think it is more than forgetting to pay for 2 $5 sandwiches. The sandwiches have UPC codes on them, all they had to do was place them on the belt and indicate they had eaten them earlier. We are caught up in it because a child is involved. Theft is a big problem for retail stores. I just can't buy into it that they simply forgot. They had the wrappers, no one has indicated what they did with the wrappers. To boycott a store based on the negligence of perps is a little over the edge for me! Stealing is stealing is stealing. I forgot to pay is just a lame excuse for me! Many people who get caught try to pay after the fact, pay before and avoid the problems! sam

I say that Safeway were way out of line with this....anyone can make a
mistake and it was hardly a hold up at Gun point....and what was it with taking away the child?????for payment for the sandwiches.........not going in Safeway ever.
