Well Sam you know how it is I feel sorry for these poor old men. It was raining so Arthur did not buy his big sponge, he does not like to get wet.

Oh my goodness, tell Arthur, it might get him good! lol I thought the cake looked great! We can never compete with the pros when we home bake! I think you should have mentioned the flea, anything that gives us back what is rightfully ours, the chair in this case, is fair game for me! sam

your sponge looks delicious and if Arthur won't eat it it is his loss.
Make sure everything is room temperature before you start is best. Take the eggs and butter out the evening before....apart from working better, they sit and look at you until guilt gets one moving.LOL.
Then sift the flour twice and stir in as you sift it into the mixture on the second sift. Always stir the mixture the same way......Well My Mother was a champion cook...two round tins are best for height.....but this one looks yum. Congratulations.
