I don't go shopping unless I just have to, and while I am there, I get in and get out as quickly as possible. LOL. I have never really liked shopping. One thing I have always hated is for the checkout clerks to make comments about the items I am buying. LOL

You bring up a lot of great questions that a lot of retail places have to evaluate.

its too bad but employees are just employees and if there isnt enough customers it wont be the stores that will suffer its the employees..I worked 2 years at Sears without a raise, others had been there for more than 6 years without one. $8 a hour is all they pay their cashies who have to put up with a lot fom customers and the supervisiors. I did cutomer service for a very well known phone company and made good money but had to take a lot for almos 12 years but we got a yearly raise. Most employers these days just dont care any longer, its all about money...

It is a vicious downward spiral and i don't see any quick fix darling
i feel so sorry for those at the check out. They have a pretty thank less job anyway.....well look at how our Lustorlove suffered at Sears ......and then to have to worry about not getting enough hours work to survive......really it is scary.

No Justi I think they probably thought you were a nice person to chat to and no one wants to give the impression that one is standing idle. The stores are at war begging to get custom. Keep smiling you might get some free samples.
