Well Taps when you consider that they chew flies and other nasties it would not be surprising if some now and again carried germs as well as their own brand of poison. I will have to be more careful but we were stung so much as kids perhaps a bit of immunity remains.

My mom got stung by a wasp on the end of her nose while picking concord grapes to make jelly. That was years ago but I'll never forget what she looked like for the longest time. Blackeyes and bulbous nose and tears that would not stop running even though she wasn't crying. I guess the wasp venom got in the tear sac or something.
