I think that shopping and buying in bulk is a great idea! Hopefully it will lead to more money in your pocket! sam

Happy Shopping
I'm trying to shop less also. Only I'm not buying in bulk. I'm too tired to cook so I just don't buy many groceries anymore.

LOL... It's good to have a plan... whatever works for you
I find it better to shop once a week, even more if possible.  Any more, if I don't have a list, I don't bother to shop.

Having the list of items you will need (with a meal plan) is great. I mostly stick to the list buying a few extras.

If I find I bought too many treats, I put some in the cupboard, allowing each person to have open only one thing at a time... this helps it last longer and reduces the need for more and more treats each time.

Isn't it amazing?
Things seem to jump into the shopping cart all by themselves! Even dog treats. LOL!

CC is right, life WAS simpler then and we did not have a s many choices.  Besides everything was made at home, not bought in tempting colored packages put in the exact hight and distance from our eyes to make them more appealing.  fYou are doing fine indeed darling.  I found out that if I go to the store only once a week, no matter what I forgot and have to do without, I do save lots of money in impulse buying stuff.  but that's me  loll  Be well and don't eat all of that at once :-)  xoxoxo

When my baby sis (3 years younger than me) had her house built
on a couple acres they own out in the valley, she and her husband had a big storage room built at the back of the garage. This is where they store bales of toilet paper, towels, canned goods, etc. They also have a freezer for meats, etc. They shop at a Costco or Sam's Club, in bulk, so any of her kids in the area, if they run out of anything after hours, can "shop" at her place. My little house is very short of storage space, so I can't really stock up.

Life was simple in those days Kabu we had the basics for most things you wouldn't get a hearth stone today or black lead for the grate. It all is more or less the same in fancy guise I don't remember a lot of variety in cat food. Wiley has got the right idea one can't keep looking at packets of the same stuff called different names. Be guided by one who knows.  Just pop along to the clothes shop dear.

Sounds great. I loved the idea about your mom and her eggs. Made me remember her wearing her pennafore apron and gathering eggs that you wrote about. I love your Aussi stories too.
