It has served us well - no one has been denied, restricted or persecuted in the practice or non-practice of religion. Churches of every denomination rise and thrive, everywhere you look, do they not? And people practice what they wish, every single day, unimpeded by laws, rules, etc. concerning their choice.
All the separation does is ensure no religion can influence government and thusly become a dominating force ruling people's lives, regardless of what they believe. The founding Fathers abhorred religious tyranny; that's one of the main reasons they came here. This doesn't mean they had no faith in a higher power; believing in individual liberty does not a non-believer in God make. I believe in our founder's collective wisdom and in the words of Jesus Christ: Jesus said to them, “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s and to God the things that are God’s.”
Well, at an impasse here, which is fine - the great thing about freedom of speech. I Thank you for allowing me to have my say in your section and for being a reasonable and focused debater, obviously not everyone is capable of such - kudos, Justi.

I think it is man not God where the problem lies. Nice to read you Justi.

I must admit that I have not studied the Constitution of the United States in the way that you have.  I have spent a lot of time in in-depth study of The Bible.  The simple statement of Jesus is good enough for me:  "Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's."  It seems to me that Jesus himself recognized the separation as a positive thing.

I have to tell you that you are indeed an enlightened soul Justi... No one can fault you for you believe in loving all through G-d and what can be better?  As the saying goes one can take the horse to water but one can not make it drink... and all we can do is to pray for those who insist in keeping their eyes closed to the truth.  As I have said before... I admire your faith darling... be well  xoxoxo

õ Woodrow Wilson, Samuel Adams, and Patrick Henry agreed with you love. In 1854 the United States House of Congress passed a resolution: The great vital and conservative element in our system is the belief of our people in the pure doctrines and divine truths of the gospel of Jesus Christ.” (www.catholiceducation.org) And, President Eisenhower passed a law that made In God We Trust the official motto of the United States on July 30, 1956 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_God_We_Trust). BC-A, Bill’s R®st
