My Uncle Peter was not a gnome.  Actually, he was my uncle by marriage.  He was a small child in the Old Country at that time.  Somehow in all the uncertainty of the times, the fears and the awful things happening, he got separated from his family.  Lost and alone along the road he was found by a farm couple and taken into their home and hearts.  All he could tell them was his first name.  He lived with them for ten years before it was found who he really belonged with.

This feels like the survival of the fittest and those with differences are always at risk! Time for a meeting, indeed! sam

I wonder how this meeting will unfold after all of this chaos.

Excellent! Love how you pulled in the various "different" people
who are often targets. My friend Thoa told me how Pol Pot's regime went after intellectuals and how she quit wearing her glasses because that was an indicator that a person could read and write...

Kabuisky, that is some great storytelling. Wonderful stuff we need to remember. Be blessed I am going to rest a couple of days.

here I go thinking ahead again....

A meeting has been called and no doubt Jilly will be present...and who will see to keeping order?  I'm thinking Jilly..the smallest and most insignificant will lead them...I'm probably way off but its fun trying to guess ahead.....

(on a totally different note, our temp yesterday hit 100F, and we had some wicked storms blow through here around 8p.m. - midnight - wondering if you got any of that up there)

oh I am so liking this bit of history and I'm imagining that with the meeting planned, " yes that Sarah and Helmut and all will find a bit more peace (and nourishment and well HOPE) ~

(although fiction so very often mirrors life, doesn't it?)

I'll be waiting to see what happens.  Good insight into neo-nazi thought.

Terrific post love and it certainly was a horrible time so I hope the story moves on into happier times.
